GLC Gala Weekend + Arts Fest Mural

I often look for my academic planner to make sure i include whatever that I wanted to. Sometimes when i try to remember what i did today or yesterday, i imagine a schedule for the day and fill in the empty non-class time with what has happened.

Wednesday Education Fair was a disappointment. Something i was looking forward to to ease my transition, knowing more about education out there. FALSE. knowing more actually makes me feel a bit more lost. I know there are schools everywhere. I just need to figure out where i can be teaching. There were lines of people to talk to representatives, and everyone was wearing a suit. Intimidating.

Thursday
Had a nice chat with Mike S. He talked about how after graduation, nobody really expects you to be or do something specific. It's time to explore, go out and have fun. Road trips and adventures. I would love that. Only i don't know if anything of this sort would happen. I can only hope and make plans. Future works without my consent :)

Friday
Started on the Art's Fest banner. i really like ours. Michelle and I finished it Sat. 1-4.30pm. It was interesting working in colab with her. Ideas bounce back and forth, and i was quite protective of the piece. There were times when i'd think the part is done, but she would still work on it. It ended up looking bonkers amazing anyway :)

Art concept: "What grows in your garden?"
I had love/passion as main theme and red/black is duality that is love/passion - positive and negative sides. Words are there to help in stitching the painting with the idea. I am pleased with the result.
9x6ft. Never worked with anything this large. It was great. Winston helped. As i was going at it Friday night, a professor walked by saying: "You're not affraid to paint, are you?" It was a great compliment, because it made me realize that if materials are not my concern, i can go wild at it. I NEED to have more freedom of this sort. It consumes me and my imagination and organic artistic growth comes out.

GLC Gala was lots of fun. My legs were sooo tired next day. Lots of dancing. Michelle and I were recovering with Winston and Heroes. We haven't see that show and it's really good. We're at season 1.
Jeremiah came from Cali to chill for a weekend. It was somewhat bizzare and awesome to see him after a year or so. He hasn't changed much but was uber happy to see lots of BC kidz and lots of love.

Things to look forward to:
Marathon Monday (18th), 4.20 and Easter are all coming. The month of April will fly FAST. Also, because i will be graduating in about 50days. May 23rd is the date. Weird to think about it. Most college kids dread the day. They dread future, unknown. Real life. Pshh real life started when i was about 11, and had my first crush on one of my classmates. Been living ever since.

Today is April 3rd, 2011. I am alive. Happy. Present.
